Kokum Butter Refined

3CayG can never go wrong, all their natural butters are fantastic, but this kokum butter refined is truly magnificent. Combined with other natural butters, this creates the silkiest whipped body butter ever. If you're looking to add a butter to your formulation that cuts the greasiness down, this is definitely the one to help with that issue. The resulting whipped body butter was super light and fast absorbing but also super moisturizing, making the skin glowy without a greasy look and feel. It doesn't smell the best, I'd say that it's a neutral vegetable-oil like smell, but it's not off-putting, I was fine with it on its own without adding any essential oils to mask it. Working with the butter was pleasant, it is hard and crumbly but yet I had no problem cutting my 1 lb order in half, there was no mess. It melts pretty fast, which makes this such a pleasure butter to work with, and it really works so seamlessly with other butters and oils. I didn't think I'd love it this much, but my skin really LOVES this butter. It's truly amazing.

I was looking for a butter to help hold up the consistency of my butters so they wouldn’t melt during shipping. Kokum came through in the clutch. Be mindful, this butter is very hard and you must melt this first BEFORE adding the other butters/ingredients. It enhanced my formula so much, I will forever use this brand…and this butter. It made my butter sooo rich, decadent and smooth!

Oooh and it hardly no scent and seems to disappear after melting.

Fresh from the package it very low scent and very hard. I sort of crumbled it to measure it. The consistency is consistent though. On the skin it melt and absorbs well.

I like that I have more room to play with scent because it smells so mild.

I wanted to make a body butter for someone who doesn't like having an oily feel on the skin for a long time but needed a moisturizer. I added more oil ( a fast absorbing oil too) than I usually use because it's so hard and it came out a very nice consistency. She very much liked the result ^__^ It makes skin feel velvety. It is interesting to me, I don't think it's my favorite for me but it has a lot going for it and I think I will try it with other butters for my own skin to get an in between feel. Everyone has their own tastes and needs. Overall it was a good experience to work with.
